The ambitious Muktinath Cable Car project building the world's longest cable car. This initiative aims to connect Pokhara with the sacred Muktinath Temple, integrating advanced engineering and substantial financial backing. The project, with an updated budget of Rs 55 billion, received a major investment of Rs 44 billion from Hyderabad's K & R Engineering Limited, leveraging the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Financing (EPCF) model.
This remarkable journey promises to be a one-of-a-kind experience, allowing passengers to witness awe-inspiring vistas and dramatic changes in landscape. Starting from the serene village of Serabesi in Kaski, weaving through picturesque mountain havens like Ulleri, Buku, and the rejuvenating Tatopani hot springs. Witness the mesmerizing Godepani, Narchyang and Rupse waterfall, traverse into Mustang district exploring the mountain city of Lete and soak in the beautiful culture of Marpha, Jomsom, and Kagbeni before culminating your spiritual voyage at the divine Muktinath Temple. The cable car project is set to span an impressive 84 kilometers. This remarkable feat of engineering will boast a total of 20 stations and over 700 gondolas strategically designed with passenger safety as the paramount concern.
What truly sets this cable car project apart is the exhilarating ascent it offers passengers. Beginning at an altitude of 1,012 meters, the cable car gradually ascends to a breathtaking 3,652 meters, covering an astonishing elevation gain of 2.64 kilometers along its route. With an estimated journey time of approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes, this cable car project not only offers unparalleled views but also a convenient and efficient mode of transportation for all those seeking to explore the captivating terrain to Muktinath.
